S65 Review

Written by Amstel Flanders at 11:37 25/7-2023

It’s been another long season and here we are, 90 days later. The season can be defined by one word: Zero… ZERO WINS! Yes, despite all the efforts, different tactics and risky attacks, our riders couldn’t be able to claim the top spot in a race. Manager Williamson in his own words, “… it’s unbelievable… this cannot happen again, is that @#&%! clear!?” he yelled at the cyclists after last race. Of course, they promised it will not happen again; but the possibility lies in front of them.

On the transfer department, our agents weren’t active during the first part of the season; just to work extra hours to complete the transfer of young Danish Sønderby and the release of one of our HLSP captains, Noite. Also we completed the transfer of Swedish trainee Ring, who’s going well in his training. Hanák finished his rough training program, and as expected, we had a decent max for the Slovakian rider and he will be the SPTQ captain, with Vandenbosch and Congo helping out. A lucky bargain with just 22 years old, still waiting for TT center.

Rumors say Season 66 will be the last for Aksentiev in professional cycling. The Macedonian legend turned 35 years old, with a career of many success as team leader and helper, now thinks of a more relaxed life with family. For a second season in a row, Lindberg has done most of the team’s point, and he’s clearly getting up. Wilhelm only needs a little more luck to obtain more impressive results and he’s in the right place to collect them.

Now it’s time to check out the captain’s overall performance throughout the season.

It would be good numbers with at least one or two wins. Yet, the need of improving is necessary and new young riders are required to keep our mid class team helpers scoring constantly, on the contrary; we did a great season start just to end up struggling in the last 30 days.

  Check our roster moves.

  In

Denmark Emil Sønderby - (Hog Bay CT) - 360k

  Portugal Zacarias Noite - (ciccioneverde) - 245k

With the current training of Ring, and the pending TT center session for Hanák, we’ll be tight in cash to get that awaited upgrade in our equipment. An unmentioned positive news is that we didn’t receive any mails asking for our riders for the first time, finally (grins).

As usual, to say goodbye to this season, here are the brave riders that will defend our jersey this coming season (Route) 66. We are trying to renew some important riders, let’s cross fingers they stay with the team.
